I have been a fan of SoloStream WordPress Templates for some time and decided this week to look into their affiliate program. The best affiliate programs to promote are those whose products you really can endorse !
They are using the E Junkie affiliate network to run their affiliate program. Which of course means I need to register for another affiliate network.

So here are some of my thoughts about the E Junkie Affiliate Network (based on a day of browsing about their service as an affiliate).

The one aspect of E Junkie that I feel could use improvement is how they index the Affiliate Merchants. Once in the admin area, affiliates click a link titled ‘browse all affiliate programs where affiliates are presented with a list of ALL the programs (over 127 pages). Not being able to search by category, audience demographic, prevents me from adequately locating the programs that would perform best across my network of sites, blogs, and directories. Affiliates are busy people, affiliate managers are busy people, hopefully E junkie will soon realize that they need to create a better platform for their affiliates to search and manage their programs.

Viewing your reports needs a bit of work as well. I want a quick snap shot of all my programs on one screen. Right now I have to select each active affiliate program from a drop down to locate my reports.

I do like the variety of programs, and that the merchants appear to have many options for payment methods.I also like the management page for contacting merchants.

If you are a merchant looking at using E Junkie I would suggest hiring someone to recruit potential affiliates as your program may not be found by well performing affiliates who don’t have the time to search through 127 pages of programs.

If Junkie offers ways to feature your program to their affiliates it may be worth a monetary investment to do so, providing they are targeting the affiliates. I was not asked as an affiliate when I registered to provide demographic information on my inventory, which leads me to wonder how well E Junkie can match you to the right affiliates.

So my thoughts - lots of GREAT merchant programs targeting software, Internet, and WordPress can be found at E Junkie.

However, E Junkie needs to harness their affiliates ability to create revenue for their merchants by providing better affiliate tools and capturing more information on their affiliates so they can present potential affiliates to their merchants.

I sent support a note requesting a list of merchants offering WordPress Themes and/or plug ins. hopefully they will be able to pull this list for me.
