Where are your readers coming from - Google Reader

A recent survey shows that Microsoft certifications are the best certification towards the career building. The people having certified status mcdst 70-272 and mcse 70-299 have improved their job or got promotion. To become Microsoft certified professional you either need to pass mcp 70-290 exam or mcp 70-271 exam. googlereader1I was asked this morning by a blogger how she can determine how many subscribe to her blog using Google Reader.

If you are wondering the same question here’s how to determine how many readers are subscribed to your blog by Google reader or any blog reading application or feed aggregator.

The answer is Feed Burner. Owned by Google, Feedburner easily provides you with a detailed breakdown of where or how your blog is subscriber to.

I personally read approximately 80% of my subscribed blogs in Google Reader. It allows me to easly read blogs from my blackberry and ensures I am not reading the same post twice.  So if you aren’t using Google Reader, I suggest starting today.

To answer Mickey’s question more specifically, once logged onto Feedburner, add your feed using the ‘Burn a feed right this instant’ form. It may take up to a week for your feeds to be indexed and showing. At this time you can return and click your feed link (you can have multiple feeds), to be brought to the Feed Dashboard.

By clicking ‘See more about your subscribers’, you will be brought to a detailed outline of the aggregaters your readers use. Scroll down to Google Feedfetcher to see who uses Google Services to read your blog.

I don’t subscribe to any blogs myself. I guess if I was reading them on a phone like you do I might. My hubby subscribes to my blog and reads it on his phone every night… LOL
