For over six years I have used and recommended clipart.com to many web publishers and bloggers. For personal use, business use, and as an executive of a large Internet Company.
Today I went to renew my membership to discover that the PAYPAL payment option has just ‘disappeared’.
Customer support informed me they were recently purchased by a new company. So here is my advise to this ‘new company’.
1) BEFORE you start making changes you should consult with your long term user base for feedback.
2) In the age of social media there is NO reason to not keep your users up to date on your business decisions or better yet involve them in those decisions. Here are a few ways; a corporate blog, social media accounts, emailing your users.
If you had at least warned me I would have renewed my membership before the change. I was thinking I should launch an all out Social Media frenzy to show you that in today’s Internet age you have really dropped the ball. However, I have decided to be nice and not ask everyone (in the many networks I belong to) to tweet you out.
I will encourage anyone who feels the same way about PayPal not being a payment option to send some ‘feedback’ to clipart.com via their feedback form.
