TW Influence is a handy tool to see where you and your competitors are in the Twitter world. Using Twitters API, TwInfluence will measure your influence in the Twitter realm. The results are not based on the number of followers you have. Your influence is measured on three levels; velocity, social capital, and centralization.

This week we located a wordpress plugin that solves an ongoing concern we have had at Her Media.
‘How can I create and publish a page in WordPress without it showing up in our navigation menu?”

There is a way to do this by adjusting tags and code, however, for those of us who aren’t coders we have located a plugin to help.

We have a page that outlines the general rules of any blog contests here at Her Media which appeared in our Navigation drop down. I needed to only include the link on each of our contest posts and as you can see from the image to the left, not only do we not have an appropriate parent category but the title was also too long.

After uploading the Exclude Page Plug in and activating it, a simple small check box appeared on the lower right of the edit screen in WordPress 2.7.

Simply uncheck the box, save the page and it no longer appears in the Navigation menu.

Get The Exclude Pages Wordpress Plug in Here

If you follow my tweets you will know I have been searching for weeks to locate a quality plug in that would enhance the management panel of Word Press.

A few of the things I was looking for:

The ability to insert comments on any given post within the management panel. For the purpose of allowing other admins to help me manage each post effectively. For example ” draft complete - please proof before publishing” .

I also wanted a way to easily view, search, and sort, upcoming pending posts. Essentially some enhancements on Word Press’ published on feature that allows you to set a future date for a post.

I haven’t found exactly what I was looking for however, I send my THANKS to AMY a coworker and the owner of Parent Sphere for finding an amazing WordPress plugin that all my Googling expertise didn’t locate.

This is the BEST Word Press Plug in I have ever tested or used! Admin Management Xtended Plugin. The plug in creates a drag and drop desk top that allows you to manage all your your posts.

Lets take a look at the management dashboard of one of my blogs NOT using the plug in:

And one of my blogs using the Admin Management Xtended Plugin Wordpress plug in:

So here are a few of the features I can no longer live without:

You can immediately see the COMMENTS assigned to each post. Best of all the icon is highlighted if you need to approve any comments. Click the icon and approve the comments.

The Action Items:

Toggle Visibility, Change Publication Date, Edit Post Slug, and Toggle Comments (open/closed).

I could go on and on about this Word Press Plugin. If you are a Wordpress blogger I would encourage you to go download the word press Admin Management Xtended Plugin and give it a try yourself.

Web Site Magazine (get yours for free HERE) had a great article this month about where the mobile web is heading. I devoured the article as this is something I had been reviewing over the last month for my blog clients and even some larger websites I work with.

I am mobile and if you want me to stay on your site don’t exploit my bandwidth ( no unlimited plans in my location) you need to offer a mobile friendly version of your website.

Mobile friendly WordPress Blogs are simple with a Word Press Plug in. (Yet another reason why you should be considering the switch to a Hosted Word Press Blog.)

Other Blog users may want to use Google Reader. You can find some instructions on creating a mobile friendly version of your blog with Google Reader at Digital Inspiration.

Looking for some more information about Mobile web users and how it may affect your blog or business website, check out this months Website Magazine.
