Her Media - Online Advertising, Promotion, and Marketing

Someone mentioned recent investors jumping on board with Meet Up recently and it got me thinking about a favourite of mine from way back when. Ryze.

Ryze isn’t really a social networking tool but it is a (or was) a great business networking tool when I actively used it upon its launch in 2001. I stopped using it when there seemed to be a it too much MLM activity for my personal taste.

Ryze may not be for bloggers, but it definitely has some networking possibilities for small business owners. So as a business owner I thought I would take another look at Ryze and maybe compare it to Linked In.

Step one go to furl and register (right click and open in a new tab) of course this would be much easier if you were using Fire Fox you are using firefox right ?

Stumble Stumble Stumble. I heard this over and over at Bog Her.

Stumble upon is an internet community and browser plugin that helps users to users to discover and rate Web pages, photos, and videos.

Useful as a user and a powerful tool for presenting your website content and blog posts to a vast number of potential visitors searching for the information and services you provide.

Getting started is easy. Simply go to StumbleUpon and register for free.

Download the Toolbar and then add the stumble code into your Blog Template.

Stumbles Buttons and tools page allows you to select the button that works for you and provides instructions on how to insert the code into your blog platform.

I do not recommend that you use services or groups developed simply for ‘exchanging stumbles”. Why ? Doing so will get you marked as a ’spammer’. Instead you should develop your own personal relationships with other users and readers who value your content and encourage them to express their interest  by asking them to stumble your content and writing a review.

It’s Saturday and BlogHer 08 is almost over. This evening I wanted to share a great resource for those of you blogging and wondering about the Tax implication for bloggers. This information is (unfortunately) only for US bloggers. Kelly Phillips Erb of Taxgirl has posted her Taxes for Bloggers notes from the Blog Her 08 convention.

Karrine - Her Media from BlogHer 08

This morning I encountered a new blogger on the internet named Greg Hollingsworth. A political and social issue blogger from the USA writing Devil in the Details . His Blog layout is refreshingly simple, different, and easy to navigate. I picked up on this search area containing a widget by ‘Lijit’ and had to check it out.

I am not in need of yet another way to track stats as I like Google Analytics as it allows me to keep tabs on not just my own sites but that of my clients as well. However the search feature sounds promising

“install the Lijit Search Wijit on your blog to give readers the most relevant results from a source they trust. YOU.”

The sign up process allows you to pull all the information from your other Social network and blogging platforms so before you start be sure to sign up with the following services (should they be of interest to you) using the same User ID.
